Fardao

Fardao is a mid-range variety from Flevo Berry’s breeding program. Fardao is a Junebearing variety with a mid-harvest period, very good flavor, and attractive skin appearance. On substrate, it might be an alternative to Magnum and M. Centenary.

Properties

Fardao produces short flower stalks. The variety is suitable for direct marketing and for trade. Fardao is very robust and flavorful! The harvest window is the same as for Korona. Initial trials as a waiting-bed crop were successful. The plants produce large, uniform fruits with an attractive, deep red colour. The fruits remain firm even at higher temperatures.

This variety requires between 800 and 900 hours of chilling. Fardao exhibits strong tolerance to powdery mildew on both leaves and fruit.
